Search engines, like Google, tend to trust certain directory and citation sources more, which then tend to give your local listing a boost in the rankings. But which directories?...and which citation sources are the trusted ones?

Editor's Note: Like all things online, the authority of Directories and Citation Sources shift and change as does Google's view of them. Because of that fact, many of the directories listed below are no longer as affective at boosting your listings overall trust and authority as they once were.

In response we've created a replacement resource that we highly recommend you focus on: The 2017 Local Citation Builder's Checklist. We have decided to leave this directory in place, instead of replacing it completely, as a reference document.
