3rd Party Reviews Dropped From Place Pages

Google Place Pages has evolved to a simpler, more focused, and direct style. The emphasis on reviews by users has been put on the front page. There’s a big red Write a Review button along with an Upload Photo button to emphasize user interaction.

The biggest change coming to Place Pages is that snippets are gone, and the reviews pulled from other review sites have been removed. This is not a surprise as we've been expecting it since the aggressive push of HotPot. Now all the reviews included in Place Pages will be written by Google users only. This goes along with their campaign of HotPot being supported by the knowledge that people want reviews from people they know and trust.

Google has also promised some future changes as well, like more personalized results, integrating more Place Pages data into Web search and creating more ways to discover, rate and review businesses.
