AdWords Focuses Their Efforts on Gaming Apps


At the Game Developers Conference, AdWords announced some updates to their advertising formats for Game App advertisers. In an effort to deliver a more engaged user for app marketers AdWords has added Active User Targeting for Gamers. The new targeting allows ads to be shown to users that have spent more than 30 minutes gaming or played a game via Google Play in the past 30 days. There are also options for targeting game categories.

In addition, through Search Trial Run Ads, users will be able to give some games a trial run from the search ad for 10 minutes before committing to an installation by clicking a Try Now button. Search Trial Run Ads, while in beta, will be available in the US to select advertisers to start. You can read AdWord's full announcement here.
