App Crawl Errors Added to Search Console

Crawl errors can result in an app page that is nowhere to be found in the search results. In their ongoing mission to improve the mobile search experience, Google announced that their App-Indexing Crawl Errors Report found in Google Search Console has been updated and simplified. Google is included data since December 11th within the now three Errors reported in the App Crawl Status report. Google explains each one as:

  • URI unsupported - The associated URI failed to launch the application.

  • Package not found - The Android Application Package (APK) was not found in the Google Play store.

  • Removed from index - There are pages in your app that do not meet Google's standards. This typically means that users cannot find what they were looking for on your app page, and so Google omits the app link from their search results.
