Facebook 'Offers' Rolling Out


We are all very aware of the online coupon/daily offers craze that is sweeping the Internet. What you may not know is that Facebook has decided that they now want a piece of that market and they've launched Facebook Offers. They've been beta testing this option so if you haven't seen it yet, you aren't alone. However, it looks like they're feeling more confident because they've recently expanded to more brands and even added some international availability.

The good news from a business owner's stand point is that Facebook has made it incredibly easy to utilize the Offers option. Creating an offer is as simple as clicking the Offer or Event+ button in the sharing tool on your page. Then you fill in all the information needed and be sure to add a picture. Then you post into your feed like you would anything else. Once posted, your fans can claim the offer from your page and either print it out or show their mobile device to an employee in your business to redeem the offer.

Since creating an offer is completely free and takes only a few seconds, this has the potential to be a very powerful tool, especially since it is utilizing the Facebook network. Your fans or people who have liked you will see your offer in their stream automatically, and a post will be created on their stream if they claim the offer, meaning their friends will know about it as well. If you'd like to take a more direct approach at getting the word out, you can broadcast your offer by paying for an ad on Facebook Marketplace.
