Facebook Photos Now Searchable on Bing


Bing continues to add search features focused on their big partner, Facebook. The latest addition is a Facebook Friends image search giving logged in Facebook users the ability to search images posted by their friends, or in their own Facebook photo collection. Bing posted this news to their Search Blog on August 30th.

You may have already noticed that when you're logged into Facebook and do a Bing search, friends' photos often show up in the social sidebar on the right. While the ability to see images based on search from your friends was already a feature, now if you click through on your friend's image result(see arrow in screen shot above), you'll see the new Friends' Photo (www.bing.com/friendsphotos) feature.

Bing reports that your Facebook privacy settings are indeed still respected and that your photos are not made public by the new search feature.

This feature currently works for both Friends, and Fan pages. This means that it gives businesses the ability to connect with people, who have 'liked' their page, on Bing. This also means that your photos won't show to those that have not yet connected with your company or personal page on Facebook.
