Get Your App Indexed in Google

Historically apps have been a type of black box for search engines with no way for them to be crawled and indexed properly. However, since December, Google has slowly been adding support for deep-linking to a growing number of Android apps. This change meant that when doing a search on your phone for a musician, for example, the results page for that search would include a link to any supported music app that you had installed on your phone, such as Spotify or Shazam. Selecting one of those search results would then open that music app at the right spot for that musician.

Google is continuing with this trend and announced that they've added deep-link support for 115 new apps. This is where we tell you that if you have an android app, then this 100% absolutely NEEDS to be on your immediate to do list.

On the other hand, if an Android app is not in your future then you should peruse the supported list of apps to see if there is anyway you can develop a relationship with and get included in. There's nothing wrong with leveraging another business's developer budget.

The mobile era is here right now and anyone in denial of that will soon become left behind. Google knows this. They also know that with the growing importance of Mobile usage getting popular apps in front of users is absolutely critical if they want to stay relevant - any they do. Expect apps to continue to get support and prominent placement within the search results more every month.
