Google Powered Product Pages Added to Local Knowledge Panel


Google has just added yet another new component to the Local Business Knowledge Panel. This new feature will lead clients to a custom product search landing-page that is powered by Google, which was first noticed and posted about on Google+ by Nicolai Helling.

Could it be a combination of Google My Business and Google Shopping? A map listing of other stores in the area can may be included with phone number and direct link to the stores actual website.

Further research uncovered that this new feature is an extension of Google’s Local Inventory Ads, which seems to be available to mostly big brand right now. However, it's possible to fill out a request form for inclusion. Then to gain access to this feature you need to be using Google Product Listing Ads.

Depending where you are in the world this feature might not show up on your local knowledge panel. We struggled to see this in the wild even with bigger brands such as Home Depot. Regardless, this feature is being tested and from the sounds of it is here to stay so if you're doing paid local advertising then fill out that inclusion form to get on the list.
