MapQuest's Newly Launched Local Business Center

mq_local_business_center.jpgMapQuest has launched its local business center, which has taken a page directly from Google Places. Within this new interface you can verify information about your business, add video and images, add hours of operation and more - free of charge. MapQuest is also offering a couple payment plans from $99 to $399 that can add your information to other sites like Yelp, Yahoo Local, and SuperPages.

MapQuest used to be the place to get all your map related information until Google released Google Maps. However, MapQuest is still the second most used travel site on the Internet behind Google. So, verifying your information and taking advantage of this new local business center is a smart idea. Remember that Google pulls information from all around the Web - so whatever you put into MapQuest is going to make an impact on Google. This will especially be true if you get the paid plan, because Google pulls reviews and other information from all those sites.

If you're looking to stand out in the crowd online there are hundreds of little tips and tools you can do to help you get noticed. Top of the list is Google Places, then Bing's Business Portal and a few notches down below those is this new MapQuest interface.
