Publishing Your Work in LinkedIn


LinkedIn has just added the ability to easily showcase your published content within your profile. Anytime you can add strength and accreditation to your published work online - do it. Adding this link out to your content gives it credibility and adds to your overall online profile.

Here are the four simple steps to getting your content added to your LinkedIn profile.

Step 1:
Login to your LinkedIn profile and right below your profile picture there is a clickable link that says, Add sections to reflect achievements and experiences on your profile.

Step 2:
Once clicked, a window will appear displaying the Sections that can be added to your profile. Select Publications and click Add to Profile.

Step 3:
Complete the Add a Publication form and click Add Publication.

Step 4:
The publication is then added to your profile and you'll see a success message at the top.

Your publication is then listed below with a short blurb of what to expect and a link. If it's a large publication like SearchEngineNews.com you get to add additional authors which in turn emails them about adding this publication to their profile as well.

Showcasing your best work on LinkedIn won't make or break your business and the link won't pass PageRank because it's on a 302 redirect, and that URL is blocked in their Robots.txt file. However, since it takes less than 5 minutes and it's a solid reputation management move - we say do it :)
