'Softer' Panda Update on Horizon

Google's Matt Cutts announced the "next generation" Panda update, with a softer impact on the search results. He claimed that one purpose of this update is to help small businesses recover more from past updates. There is no official word when this update will be released. Coincidentally, this news came just days before Google was granted their patent on the Panda algorithm.
