Target Collaborates with Pinterest to Make a New Breed of Store


awesome_shop.jpgTarget is testing the power of Pinterest with the release of an online storefront called Awesome Shop, which pulls data from Target's own online store and combines it with information from Pinterest's API to reveal Target's most pinned and highly reviewed items.

In November Pinterest allowed several big brands API access in order to develop new collaborations. Target's Awesome Shop could go a long way to prove its worth to other brands. We know from experience that Pinterest is a valuable money making resource for businesses.

However, by pulling Pinterest data off their site and into a different platform it removes all the features of Pinterest's user interface that users adore.
