My site was denied admission to Yahoo Search Submit, what can I do?

  • A while ago, we submitted our site to Yahoo Search Submit Basic. When we checked our order status, it said it was canceled. When we contacted them, they just stated that the site does "not fully meet the Content Guidelines that you agreed to when you subscribed" and that they were not able to get the specifics from the Quality Assurance Review. We do not have anything on our site that would violate the Yahoo Content Guidelines. Our site is doing well in Google and other search engines. What can we do?

Answer: Obviously the place to start is by reviewing your site in detail against the Yahoo Search Submit Guidelines. There are a lot of them and there may be something you've overlooked. As you probably know, Yahoo does not allow sites in the following specific categories to participate in yahoo-denial.jpg Yahoo Search Submit:

  • Online Gambling Sites
  • Prescription Drug Sites
  • Tobacco Products
  • Adult Sites

We will assume your site cannot be categorized within any of the above prohibited categories AND that you have closely reviewed Yahoo's Search Submit Guidelines and deemed your site 100% compliant.

From there we suggest you once again contact Yahoo directly by email at ystfeedback@yahoo.com to explain your situation.
