Do you hate blogging but want a blog? Posterous is for you!

  • I'd like a way to upload and share file and photos with friends and family, and occasionally pontificate about the world around me. But setting up and managing a blog is not really something I want to do. Is there another option out there for those who may not have the time or desire to set-up and manage a formal blog?

Oh wait, you can...enter Posterous.

Posterous has been around for less than two years and may still be new to most of you. But if you are opposed to actually investing the time and effort into setting up and managing a blog on a daily basis (but you still can operate an email account), Posterous is for you.

Posterous makes blogging as easy as sending an email. Just send an email from any email account to post@posterous.com and they reply with the address of your new blog you can use to share with friends and family. No sign-up is needed to use the service but since Posterous takes your email address as the address of your blog (i.e. bigboy47@gmail.com becomes http://bigboy47.posterous.com) you may want to sign-up just to have the ability to specify a more user-friendly custom URL.

The possibilities are endless with Posterous. The service supports a full range of document types per the graphic below:
