Unfortunately, effective link bait pieces are just one piece of the puzzle. You have to know how and where to promote them effectively. To that end, here are nine tried and true strategies that we use on our own client pieces that you can readily replicate at your end in the future:

  • 1. Add SMO Buttons: For best effect, add in a TweetMeme and Digg button directly at the top of each of your blog posts. Visitors to pages with these buttons can visually see accumulated stats and are more inclined to share the piece in turn.
