The cutting edge search engine strategy, particuarly concerning high rankings at Google, now revolves around building link structures that elevate PageRank. In the past it was simply a matter of interlinking all pages within a site.

Today, however, the successfully high ranking sites and pages are taking a much more precise approach as was fastidiously detailed in this month's article titled Precision Guided Linking.

With that in mind it's timely that we had the opportunity to catch up with master link strategist, Michael Campbell for an interview with him about his new book, Revenge of the MiniNet.

S.M.   Michael, you've been getting some very good press lately about your latest ebook. For example I read what Alan Gardyne said–here I'll read it to you...

Nice review! ...of course I should mention for the sake of our readers that Allan is the force behind the widely respected affiliate newsletter associateprograms.com. So, tell us–how did you come up with the MiniNet concept?

M.C.  Sure ...I'd been experimenting with using several sites to promote a product, instead of setting up everything on one huge site. It seemed that the network of smaller sites performed better in the search engines, because they had a more narrow focus in their keywords.

Later, a bunch of my friends and I got together and each picked a different, yet related, minisite concept. Just for fun, we linked all the sites together in a circle. Little did we know that a few weeks later, all of us would be raking in the cash. One friend made $1,300 his first day.

So based on that success, I set up a whole battery of experiments, each using a different linking strategy. All I had to do was observe and record the results.
