Google's update from Hell, part 2
After the mid-June update, many people were relieved to see their sites reappearing in the index - only to find them missing again a week or so later. While last June's index appears to be an improvement from the one in May, many sites are still suffering from loss of ranking or intermittent disappearance.
So what could be causing your site to disappear?
The most likely cause, especially if your site is somewhat new, is that it has been dropped from the "fresh sites" part of the index. It is common for Google to drop new URL's discovered by Freshbot after a week or two after which they are deep spidered and brought back into the index with the next main update. This has been a common issue anyway but lately the problem appears to be spanning more than one update at a time.
