1. Optimize a Product Page
In the same amount of time it takes you to review your Facebook feed, you could be picking one of your product pages and make improvements that result in better ranking and increased sales. Let's discuss an ecommerce product page, but you could apply the same ideas to other pages as well.
Most ecommerce sites that have hundreds, if not thousands of product pages all share a common problem - the volume of pages that really deserve special attention to both rank well and generate sales conversions have not received the time they really deserve. It's hard to find the resources to do this, but like most big problems the way you solve them is one small bite at a time, so let's grab ONE page and work to improve it!
Review the <title> tag for optimization
The text within your pages title tag is one of the most important SEO factors in ranking, ignore it and your ranking will suffer.
- Does the title tag contain what is likely the primary and perhaps secondary keywords for the product?
- Would it be appropriate to add the product part number, what it fits, brand name, any other extra information? Don't be afraid of long title tags when you're working with long tail product pages.
