Making Money the Easy Way
How to reverse engineer the typical marketing plan and load the odds of success in your favor.

Frequently when asked my opinion on someone's "great million dollar product idea", I respond with a two pronged question that partially deflates the client's bubble of enthusiasm...

"Who are you going to market it to ...and how are you going to reach them?

All too often their answer is...

"I haven't quite figured that out yet."

And, frequently, they never do figure it out. This is the single greatest problem standing in the way of amateur product developers.

Allow me to share a story. A few years back I met a friend that had been very successful in the "traditional" world of direct response marketing. After a few conversations and spending some time getting to know him, I finally summoned up the courage to ask him his secret of success. In dramatic fashion he checked over both shoulders for eves droppers and once convinced the coast was clear he furled his eyebrows and whispered..,

"First I find an easily reachable target audience with a common problem... and then I develop a product to solve their problem."

Believe me, the simplistic power of his answer eluded me at first. I must have look confused because he continued knowing that I did not fully understand the gravity of his "secret".
