Need to Generate a List of Dofollow Blogs for Link Building? Here's How!
- Do you have a shortcut on how I can find blogs to post on, which are free of nofollow tags? Are there directories devoted to this or any special research tricks I can use?
Answer: Good question. The good news is that MOST blog posts these days are dofollow; it's the blog comments that may be nofollow. However, there are several ways to determine if a blog, in general, is dofollow—and to make sure whatever comments you post pass the appropriate link juice.
First, does the blog advertise that it's a dofollow blog? Is it an active part of the growing dofollow movement? The dofollow movement (started by designer Randa Clay) makes use of the graphic (seen on the left) which states U Comment, I Follow. This states the blog is community-oriented and if you provide useful blog comments, you will be rewarded with dofollow links within your comments.
Second, view the source code of previous blog posts on the site in question. Check the link source code for outgoing links from past blog posts. Is it a straight link with code like <a href="http://www.samplesite.com">Anchor Text</a>, or is there a nofollow attribute added like <a href="http://www.samplesite.com" rel="nofollow">Anchor Text</a>? If it's the later, that link is nofollow and is not passing PageRank.
Third, download the SearchStatus plug-in for Firefox. This plug-in actually highlights all nofollow links on a page. This makes it very easy to see at a glance if a blog is nofollow or dofollow....
