SEN Forum Top Pick: Remove Bad Reviews from Pissedconsumer.com/

Hello - My client has some bad reviews on www.pissedconsumer.com/, while we continue to do seo, get new reviews on various levels, blog optimization, etc., this review site still come ups 2nd in a google search for the company name.

The www.pissedconsumer.com site has some info on review removals however it starts with getting an attorney and a court order.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, getting bad reviews removed via legal action is costly in time, energy and resources and may not even work. Contacting review sites like Yelp or PC is usually a waste of time unless you have solid evidence that the review was posted by a non-customer. Otherwise, most review sites will tell you that everyone is entitled to post their opinion and won't remove the review.

Getting a bad review or two is a fact of digital life. Multiple bad reviews from actual customers indicates one or more customer service issues. In my book on building and marketing a 5-star online reputation, I give a specific strategies to fix customer service issues.

I've found that the best ways to offset negative reviews are:

  • Implement a proactive review encouragement program ("PREP") to get more positive reviews.
  • Create at least one video that contains at least 5 (10 is better) positive reviews and post it on YouTube. Properly formatted and promoted, a review video can appear above negative listings at Yelp and PC on SERPs.
  • Create a custom review "hub" website that contains both positive reviews and links to your pages at the major review portals. Then ask happy customers to post there.

Hope this helps.
