The easiest way to track outbound links

• To improve our page-load speed, we disabled the AddThis buttons along with their attendant javascript file in favor of icons with direct links to our social platforms. In doing this, we gave up the stats they supply in regards to sharing activity.

  However, since we are upping our social interactions, we figure this information would be useful. So, our analytics guy is looking for some guidance on how to track this sharing activity. Is that easily doable? ...and is there a tutorial you know of that he might have overlooked?
