What are the best tools to stay on top of Site Performance?
 by Kristi Hagen

As business owner, what tools does my webmaster need to generate my company's website performance reports?

  • I'm simplifying my overall operations and replacing my webmaster with another who is less experienced. As such I'll be losing my site reporting that was provided by the outgoing webmaster.

As a business owner, I would like to know that my new webmaster has the tools needed to generate the monthly reports I should be reviewing to ensure my site is performing well. Can you point me to where I can find the tools we need to generate these reports?

Answer:

Here are the Top 3 tools you need...

  1. Google Search Console (GSC)be sure the site ownership is set to you if you haven't already done that. GSC is where you can be alerted to any new errors or issues that Google is concerned about. It also allows you to see how your site is performing according to Google and it's offered free by Google. https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome
  2. Google Analytics (GA)again, make sure you have admin/owner access to this account as well if you already have set that up. Your analytics is where you can see the actual traffic coming to your pages, what your users are doing, track conversions, see where your traffic is actually coming from and more. Google also offers this toolset for free. https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/#/
  3. WebCEO & Sitebulbthese are available as part of your Pro Support Membership here at SEN. The combination of these two tool suites will give you everything you need. You can track your search engine rankings to be sure that you aren't dropping for any of your valuable keywords, keep track of your social media mentions, get a comprehensive look at any errors on your site and so much more. You can see all of our WebCEO demo videos here and we have an incredible training video on doing site audits with Sitebul...
