What's the best way to manage a Google My Business location that's no longer in use?

  • Our business has 2 Google My Business locations. The second listing is for a location we used 2 years ago as a temporary warehouse. Even though we don't use it now, I claimed the location in order to manage it.

I'm wondering, should I just mark that business as closed? ...or is there something else you'd recommend?

I want to avoid any negative impact on the primary business and location. Please advise.

Answer:

First, be sure you have the correct primary and secondary phone numbers on your main Google My Business listing.

Then, mark the 2nd location as closed.

In regard to negative impact, your first location should be fine due to the fact that second locations (or wrong locations) pop up all the time with duplicate/incorrect info. So claiming them, and then removing them, is standard operating procedure — nothing here to worry about.SEN article end
