Why isn't Google Verifying My Legitimate Business Location?

  • Two months ago, I opened up a "brick and mortar" branch office for my law practice. This is a real office, not a Regus office sharing setup. I requested the postcard, received it and entered the code in the Google My Business account.

It has been pending for some time now. At one time, I think, it said Verified, but now in the list where all my other office locations have a green Verified label, this location just says pending.

What, if anything, can I do? I have posted photos of the office on the Google My Business page, entered hours, etc. for the location. The phone number is unique, a brand new number that has never been used by any of my other offices. I'm stumped. Can you offer any insights or suggestions?

Answer:

Unfortunately, "virtual offices" have been so widely abused by some industries, including law firms, that Google is sometimes now overly cautious about approving new locations.

Try contacting Google My Business (GMB) support via Twitter (@GoogleMyBiz) if you haven't already, but first, make certain that your location is in full compliance with Google's requirements: https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177? Once you're sure of that, then I'm sure you'll be able to get this resolved via Twitter. SEN article end
