AdWords Now Has Phone Support! (Again)

The official AdWords help number in the U.S. and Canada is now 1-866-2Google (1-866-246-6453) and is staffed Monday through Friday, 9:00a-8:00p Eastern Time.

If you've been with AdWords a few years you'll recall the old phone support was 1-888-Google9, which was discontinued. Google didn't have the infrastructure to deal with the volume of calls and the complexity of complaints over quality score slaps and such. Plus the canned "just make your ads and site more relevant, sir" answers from the Google specialists were no help.

Now with more thorough reporting in the interface (see "policy violation" above, etc.) and backup infrastructure with more Google reviewers on hand to investigate and give meaningful, specific answers to submitted questions, a phone helpline makes sense. Issues can be esclated with reasonable ease that won't require stonewalling on the part of the Google expert.
