Bing Launches Airport Maps...to Desktop First


Hot on the heels of last month's addition of Mall Maps, Bing rolled out highly detailed maps for 42 Airport Hubs in the United States. While that's a good start, we hope they'll cover some of the smaller ones soon. However, it may take some time to map all 503 commercial airports in the country.

Bing New Airport Maps

Just like Mall Maps, Airport Maps have the ability to view different levels, stores within the airport, Airline Service desks, ticket counters, terminals, baggage claim, kiosks, restaurants and more.

You can view Bing's Airport Maps by searching for the Airport by name, city or even their code from within Bing Maps. You can also search by entering your flight number and click the map link in the result.

This is a very cool and useful feature that Bing has added here to Maps, at least on the desktop. Now on the other hand, if you're using a mobile device, Bing fails miserably with this new feature...Ooops.

After all, wouldn't you think that the #1 most used device while in a Airport would be a Smartphone? Alas, Bing has failed so far to add the new Airport Maps to their Android App and it's not available at m.bing.com either.
