Bing First To Use Video On Home Page


Bing launched the latest update to their home page on September 23rd with a new twist, a video background for the first day of the Fall Season for those in the US. For those with HTML5 capable browsers, a background of the Grand Teton National Park time lapse video was used to promote the new Bing Homepage changes.

The video background wasn't the only change to the homepage, they also moved most of the navigation elements to the bar at the top of the page. Something quite notable is the Facebook Like button at the lower left of the background image. They certainly don't want to miss out on any Likes!

The Video background was only used for September 23rd, but Bing says they will be using it again for special events or when they have something really cool to share.

Yes, we agree it's a bit ironic that they used YouTube for their video instead of Bing Videos - perhaps they wanted to give the video more exposure?
