Bing Wins Key Positioning in Apple's New Mobile iOS Yosemite

Apple recently unveiled its decision to use Bing's search results within its dramatically updated Spotlight feature that's being released with Apple's new Yosemite mobile operating system (preview it here). The newly updated Spotlight feature will display results from Wikipedia, movie show times, Apple Maps and now search results from Bing.

Apple has slowly been stepping away from Google resources over the last year. First, Google Maps was replaced with Apple's own mapping system. Now this change to "Bing results" within Spotlight could be another indication that Apple is taking steps to end its relationship with Google long term (think years not months here).

For now, this is a solid win for Bing and another HUGE indicator that you need to be sure your Web sites are ranking well in both Google and Bing. Yes, Google accounts for the highest percent of market share, but with Bing getting included in more and more areas within Apple products - you can't afford to ignore them!
