Combine Sites in Search Console with New 'Property Sets'


Google has finally given you a way to track multiple sites within one Search Console interface, a feature they're calling Property Sets. For many having all of your websites in separated Search Console accounts has been a huge pain. It's not always easy to toggle between accounts to compare reports or having to download data and manually created combine reporting. This is a feature that we know many of our members will be excited to start using.

To give you an idea of its applications, this includes all of the following site scenarios: HTTPS & HTTP, your website & your app, different international sites, all of your apps together, a single brand with multiple sites, and so on. With its 200-property limit applied to Property Sets you can let your imagination run wild.

create_property_set.jpgHere's how to create a new Property Set in Search Console:

  1. In the Search Console home page, click Create a set.

  2. Optionally modify the name of the new set.

  3. Add members to your set from existing verified properties in your account.

  4. Click Save to save your new set.

  5. Clicking Cancel will not prevent the set from being created; to delete the set you must go back to the home page and delete the set from your property list.

Google has already warned users that it will take a few days to start seeing data for any new set you create, even if you already have data for all the properties - so be patient. Google also released a detailed Support Page that laid out the following rules that apply if you want to create a Property Set.

  • You must be at least a verified restricted user for all member properties in the set.

  • There is a limit of 200 properties in a set.

  • You cannot add a set as a member to another set, but you can add any other type of verified property.
