Google Releases New SSL Warnings


SEN's own Casey Markee was the first to break the story on Google Search Console's new SSL notification that is triggered if your SSL/TLS certificate does NOT include or match your domain name. Here is an example:

In response, Google's Adrienne Porter Felt confirmed this new notification, via Twitter:

Google reps then went on to say that you will also receive detailed SSL Notices for any site that has issues with SSL Certificates that are expired, have the wrong date, are invalid, have incorrect settings in place and more. All of these issues can be traced to Google's Secure your Site with HTTPS best practices page.

With that in mind, you should make it a point to add the above triggers into any SSL auditing you already do at your end for your clients now and in the future.
