GTIN Now Required for Your Google Shopping Feed

As of September 15th, all Google Shopping merchants offering brand-name products will be required to provide the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) and brand for shopping feeds targeting Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States.

This requirement applies when the brand is a designated brand (list of designated brands) and the condition of the product is New. Google has already taken steps to disapprove items for sale that have incorrect or missing GTINs. If your product has an invalid GTIN or you feel your offer was unjustly disapproved, you can request a review via the Merchant Center.

To learn more about this new requirement, visit the Google Commerce blog or the Google Merchant Help Center.
