NEW Cost Per Lead Ad Units Roll Out


Yahoo is starting out 2013 with some aggressive new changes and their advertising department isn't being left out. Under the direction of Marissa Mayer, a dynamic new ad format is being rolled out to advertisers that allows them to capture leads by putting a contact form directly in the search results.

The example Yahoo released with the announcement was for popular dating site Match.com.

"Unlike dating sites, however, Yahoo! will make sure that every match you attract is legit. We'll verify all submitted user data to ensure you're charged only for valid leads. Please note that pricing will vary according to product or service."

Yahoo has also been bragging of a 6% increase in click through for advertisers testing out this new format.

"Higher click-through rates
This innovative new ad format not only enables you to boost your appeal by promoting your brand more prominently on the search page, it has yielded click-through rate increases of 6%!"

You'll be given the ability to customize this form by adding your own headline, logo, and up to 6 individual fields to tailor it to your audience's needs. Then you can add a customized 'Thank You' message that users will see once they've filled out the form provided and submitted the information.

This ad unit is completely set up on a Cost Per Lead system, meaning if the form isn't completed then you don't pay.
