Place Pages Allow Open Editing and Promise Faster Support


Google is now allowing signed in users to add edits and updates to your Places page. This has the potential to backfire but *most* of the time people just want to fix what's wrong with information and not wreck havoc. However, you will receive an email notice for every edit that is made on your claimed Place Page so you will have the ability to monitor changes. This can also help serve as a reminder for you if you haven't updated your page in a while.

With this change Google is also promising a faster customer service response time, which has been a very poor area for them in the past. On our end, this actually sounds like this promise is real and not just talk. We've heard reports from members about positive experiences. One specific report was from a Master Mind member having a problem removing an inappropriate review from her Places page. She decided to use Google's new Places Support form to ask for help. She stated that within 30 minutes she received an email from a Google tech explaining that the review had been removed for her.

Yeah, it sounds almost unbelievable to us as well. We're sure this 30 minute response time isn't the norm but it gives us hope.
