Search Google Using Your Voice and Images from Your Camera


Google has decided to take some of their pre-existing mobile features and launch them for desktop search. The first is the ability to snap a picture with your camera and then load it onto Google to use it as your searching point. If this concept is new to you then think of snapping a picture of an item you've found at an antique store to check its value, compare prices on a painting you like and even find those shoes that your son can't live without that his friend is wearing.

This feature allows the ever growing market of lazy and impatient users to find what they want with the minimum amount of keystrokes. In order to get started with image search just visit images.google.com and play around. Right now the idea is still ahead of the technology and many people testing this are complaining about bugs and failed searches.

Here's an example search we did using a symbol to find its meaning. We went to Google clicked Image search and then clicked on the little camera icon in order to load the image from the computer. Google also gives you the option to paste the URL where the image is located as well.

As you can see Google correctly identified the symbol as the Chinese symbol representing love. So what does this have to do with your business? Well, this is yet another strong argument you can bring to your clients on the importance of good images for all the content you're publishing. Get good, relevant, optimized images onto your site and ensure that it's another successful way to bring in sold traffic.
