Tweets Once Again in Google Results


twitter_bird.jpgHistory repeats itself in a deal Twitter and Google recently struck. Google will again be allowed access to Twitter's stream of data created by its 284 million users, in order to feature tweets in the search results pages. This deal isn't exclusive to Google as Twitter also provides this data to Bing and Yahoo!.

While the deal isn't public yet, tweets in the search results pages are expected to be seen within the first half of 2015. This partnership is a great opportunity for Google to feature live action tweets and could possibly be a revenue driver for Twitter, who is motivated to get more exposure as new adoption of the platform has slowed.

This is an opportunity for authoritative marketers and well branded businesses to get featured on the top of the search result pages. Chances are that live tweets will start to be featured within the news results first so keep your eye on current events, which will allow you to tweet about trending topics as they're happening.
