Apps, Real Time Game Scores and Lists Added to Search Results
This month, Google partnered with ESPN to post NFL football and baseball scores along with stats in real time, right in the search results. These snippets can even lead you to recaps, live streams and info on players or teams. We don't know about you, but this could be our favorite Google Update this year ;)

We know that the football score probably doesn't effect your marketing (unless you have a subscriber base for a fantasy football site), but man is it cool.
On a more serious side - Google has also released an App snippet that allows your app to show up in the results helping you get it out there and seen.
Don't have the need for sports scores and you aren't marketing an app? Well then perhaps you could use a list. Not as exciting as the others, but still useful and definitely more applicable. The list snippet is very simple. It allows sites to present a list in the search results of content on the site. Sometimes a list brings a more organized presentation of your content which can be more efficient than a small paragraph. A bulleted list of articles can display more information than a paragraph about a single subject.
As always, test any newly added snippets with Google's rich snippets testing tool and keep in mind that even if you've got everything correct on your end, Google may or may not use your snippets.
