Facebook Copies YouTube's Playbook with Embeddable Posts


In an effort to bring Facebook to a broader audience they've announced the introduction of embeddable posts. The new feature will work much like embedding a video directly from YouTube, in that Facebook will provide code to put directly into your site or blog. Posts that have been embedded can contain videos, photos, or hashtags and they retain the ability to be liked and followed. The only posts that are available for embedding are those that are already public.

In order to utilize the new feature simply find the public post you'd like to share and click on the downward arrow in the top right corner. From there, you will see an option to 'report as spam' or 'embed post'.

Initially, this feature was only available to a few select news organizations but Facebook rolled it out to the public this month. From our point of view, this is a very smart move by Facebook. This type of interaction will increase traffic to public profiles and if you're already using Facebook as a business owner, this presents a unique opportunity to create quality content that can be shared easily to a broader audience.
