Search Console Gets 3 New Reports: Logos, Structured Data Errors & Sitelinks

There are three new Structured Data reports within Google Search Console (GSC) designed to help you track and troubleshoot your site's existing markup. They are:

  1. Logos - This is the logo that Google serves up in your Knowledge panel and is controlled by your homepage's Organization Markup.
  2. Sitelinks searchbox - This covers that clever searchbox that can appear with your listing that allows users to search your website directly from the search results. This is controlled with the SearchAction markup.
  3. Unparsable structured data - This is an error report that allows you to troubleshoot any markup code on your site that's not passing Google's testing.

All three of the new reports, can be found under your Enhancements tab in Search Console as long as your site has the specific markup in place.

Besides the new GSC reports, Google’s URL inspection tool also alerts you to Unparsable Structured Data errors when you check a page that has an error. The URL inspection tool notice looks like this:

And, as if those messages fail to get your attention, you will very likely receive an email notification like this.

  • Actionable Strategy — Do we really need all of these new reports?... Yes! Errors happen and the more transparent Google can be about the way our Structured Data is performing the better. Errors popup even if you're always careful to run new code past Google's Structured Testing Tool before publishing.
