YouTube Adds New Info Cards
YouTube recently announced the release of YouTube Cards, the evolution of annotations. Instead of annoying text popping up on the screen, you will now have the option of clicking a small icon in the upper right hand corner to open a small info box that allows you to truly market to your audience. The new YouTube cards are available across all platforms so if you're leveraging YouTube video in your marketing, now is the time to add these cards.
Currently there are six types of cards available:
- Merchandise
- Fundraising
- Video
- Playlist
- Associated Website
- Fan Funding
In order to display cards, your YouTube account needs to be in good standing. However, users can choose not to see cards by adjusting their account settings. To learn more, visit YouTube's Help page.
