My YouTube account has been suspended. Now what?!

  • I'm wondering if anyone has experience of a YouTube account being suspended? My client had 60+ product demo videos on their YouTube channel. Some of them were shown on a video page on their website: https://www.example.com/product-videos and a lot of products had the relevant video shown in a tab (e.g.https://www.example.com/security-fasteners/2-hole-pan-head-security-barrel-nuts-sex-bolts/2h07)

I think this suspension can only be about the use of sex, which is legitimate in this case - that's what the products are. The client owns the channel and I'm a manager. Neither of us have received any emails from YouTube at all, although when I logged into the channel a couple of weeks ago, 2 videos (both with the word sex in them) had violation messages. I appealed and heard nothing more.

This is the suspension notice I found when I logged into the YouTube channel:

This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.

Then I researched and found a link to an appeal form, which the client completed and then we heard this:

Thank you for your account suspension appeal. We have decided to keep your account suspended based on our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Please visit http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines for more information.

Please do not respond to this email. Replies to this email will not be processed. Please refer to our Help Center for more information.
So it looks as though there’s nothing we can do – do you agree? Just wondered whether anyone has experience of this. I wish I could speak to someone at Google / YouTube about it but I can't find a contact number anywhere. We do Google Ads on these phrases and have had problems getting ads approved in the past, but on review, Google has approved them. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Answer:

That's ridiculous, but yeah sounds like you've ran out of options on that account. I'...
