As we’ve said in the past, Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP is Google’s 2016 buzz phrase. They’re so dedicated to its success right now that not a month goes by without some new resource or update being released. This month is no exception. So, here is the latest news on the AMP project…

AMP is now live within the entire search results

Google has officially added results with the AMP tag into all of the mobile search results globally and NOT just the "Top Stories" carousel like it was previously. Click the image below to see it in action:

This shift was the obvious next step after Google removed the "Mobile-Friendly" tag from the search results last month. Now, it's going to take some time to see if searchers will notice or even understand what that AMP tag represents.

Latest AMP Resources & Validation Tools

As we explained in our Featured article shifting over your pages to AMP is more complicated than Google makes it sound. If you're on WordPress or another popular CMS then there are plugins rolling out to assist you. However, the plugins can't keep up with Google's updates to AMP so many of those are resulting in errors and major issues that many webmasters feel just aren't worth the trouble of fixing, which has made many decide that waiting it out is the best approach for now.
