Bans SEO Agency for Paid Links Scheme


Search marketing agency iAcquire has been banned from Google for allegedly being involved in a paid link network. iAcquire was determined to be the agency behind a series of emails sent out by Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corporation that requested paid links. The result is that iAcquire and all of its affiliates have been de-indexed by Google.

At first this seemed to be shocking since usually Google would ban only the domain associated with the emails and not an agency like iAcquire. However some investigation has determined that iAcquire has several affiliates that are all involved in paid links. This puts iAcquire as a figurative head of a paid link network.

It seems once the cat was out of the bag the co-founder of iAcquire admitted that there was some paid link networking being done, but that they had already been in the process of removing paid links for all aspects of the business. That includes helping clients transition to a non-paid links model. iAcquire's goal is to go to completely white hat methods of operation.

This is just further proof to avoid paid links like the plague. We've covered this in the past here and here. We know there are always going to be some links that make sense to buy, just be very careful how you go about it and who you are dealing with if you must.
