This month Bing decided that their original launch of Bing Deals (a deal aggregator that is part of the Bing Shopping Service) last March was more of a flop then a success and they want a do-over. This news came on September 23rd when Bing made its official announcement on the subject.

This move was forced on Bing due to the fact that the original launch of Bing Deals was in conjunction with Dealmap, which was subsequently purchased by Google in August. This led to an obvious kink in the way Bing Deals worked fundamentally. Deals was then forced to warp into what it is now - a full aggregator of deals from many different sources.

Although this all sounds convoluted - don't let that shake you. Bing Deals is a resource that should not be over looked with major providers such as Groupon, LivingSocial, Nordstrom and Target all participating with over 200,000 offers in the US.

Probably the most important update brought to the table is the incorporation of Local Deals into their Local Business Portal allowing merchants to create their own Deals .
