Botnets Are Under Attack


Google AdWords announced a big step towards battling ad fraud with the automation of filtering traffic from the top three ad fraud botnets. Botnets are a type of malware that infect computers and are designed to generate large amounts of fake ad traffic. Botnet malware is able to mimic the behavior of a real human by clicking and scrolling, making them hard to detect. Google says that not only are they able to filter fraudulent traffic from three major botnets they've code named Bedep, Beetal and Changthangi, which infected over 500,000 computers but these filters are resilient to changes to the malware as well.
