Buy Without Leaving Google's Search Results

Google is poised to begin allowing purchases right within their search results according to a recent report at the Wall Street Journal. Insiders report that the company is in talks with a few key advertisers to try out the use of a Buy Now button for some searches on mobile devices.

The Buy buttons will be placed within the paid search results and will take users to an interface allowing for product size and customization within Google.com. Payment processing will be handled by Google and users will have the option to have their payment information saved for future use. Shipping and product handling will be the responsibility of the retailer. Unlike Amazon sales, retailers will not be required to pay a portion of their sales back to Google, instead Google will continue to collect income from their advertising model. The buy button has had no formal announcement from Google, but it's expected to be launched in some form, in the coming weeks.
