Get a Local Citation From Your Pinterest 'Place Pins' Today

Pinterest has just jumped into the Local Search arena with the introduction of Place Pins, which allow you to post additional local information with each pin such as phone number, address and even the map location of the business on a numbered map board!

Since we know that Google indexes the text content within the description of a Pin the addition of local data will do nothing but add additional ranking signals to your local business' online profile. Think of the great implications for restaurants and storefronts! Take a photo of a juicy fantastic burger, add a Place Pin and watch as potential customers re-pin your location.

To utilize the new Place Pins simply create a new board and set the Add a Map to it or just edit an existing board to add the local data. Once it's set up you can begin pinning different locations to your map. Repinning Place Pins works exactly the same as regular pins and it retains the business information and map location.
