Google Changing the Mobile Friendly Rules


As reported previously, Google has app install interstitials in their crosshairs. They no longer use them on their own pages and there's been some talk of their stance becoming stronger against them.

In September, Google announced the next step, any web page that has a significant amount of content visually blocked by an app install interstitial banner will no longer pass the mobile-friendly test. So give your site pages a critical eye and a spin through the mobile-friendly test, if your app install interstitial blocks a lot of what your visitor came to your site for, it's probably time for a tweak on that design. As of November 1st, any page that has a banner that's too large will no longer be considered mobile-friendly.
