How to Move AdWords Properties Between Accounts

On September 13th, Google announced that you can now move a Google Analytics, or Analytics 360, property between accounts. Google hopes that this new feature will help users in the organization of their accounts and get more out of the advanced features.

Some of the benefits to this improvement are the following:

1. Cleaner Accounts – A lot of users have had their accounts for a long time now. Every time a new property was created it stayed forever in its account. Now you can simplify your accounts and move properties around in a way that better fits your present needs.

2. Enhancing Features - Some of the Google Analytics features only worked well with properties in a single account. Now, since you can regroup your properties, you can move them to accounts that make more sense with the features you need.

One such feature is the Roll-Up Reporting in Analytics 360. This feature lets you combine information from several properties within a single account. You can group relating properties in one single group.

3. Ownership Transfers – You can now move a property out of its original account to another. For those who had properties created and controlled by a third party this feature is very convenient.

There is no need to retag your website. Property moving is done right inside of the Google Analytics' Admin area.

To move a property between accounts, you need to have full access to both AdWords accounts (Edit and Manager Users permissions). Once you've got that, login to the account that has the property you'd like to move, access the Admin section and go to the Property Settings page. Select the The Property button that you will find in the top right corner.
