Pinterest CEO, Ben Silbermann wrote a recent blog post introducing 'Promoted Pins', which are paid advertising in the form of a pin. During this initial phase, Pinterest has partnered with only a few businesses to test the waters. Silbermann assured users that these promoted pins will be tasteful, will blend into the user experience, they will be transparent (obvious that it's paid) and of course - relevant to your interests.
